About me

Hello! I'm Rushil, a graduate student of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rutgers University. I did my undergrad degree in Mechanical Engineering at Ahmedabad University. My passion, work ethic, and optimistic attitude are all things I take pride in. Projects have always been an integral part of my learning. I've completed over 14 projects in total, the most of which are in the fields of automation, sustainable energy, and process improvement. With my diverse set of skills and extensive hands-on experience, I am eager to obtain experience in the Supply Chain Industry or Manufacturing Sector, where I can engage and apply my analytical skills to reach personal and organizational goals.

Apart from my academic pursuits, I also like spending my time working on DIY home automation projects, repairing old hardware, and reading about upcoming technologies and startups.

Here are a few technologies I've have worked with:
Programming:

- C/C++
- Python
- R
- SQL
- Big Query
- MATLAB
- Scilab

Software Tools:

- Microsoft Office
- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
- FlexSim
- Arena
- Tableau
- Power Bi
- Looker
- Google Data Studio

Technical Skills:

- Data Analysis
- Demand Planning
- Six Sigma
- Process Improvement
- Lean Manufacturing
- Kaizen
- Root Cause Analysis
- CNC Programming
- 3D Printing

Experience

Projects

Laser Surface Texturing for Advanced Manufacturing

Hands-on research of de-coating carbide tools coated with 2.2µm of TiAlN and 0.4µm TiN using laser ablation; and micro-scale texturing for developing tool surfaces having different adhesion and friction coefficients.

Mentor: Dr. Tugrul Ozel

Arena Simulation for Optimizing of Impeller Manufacturing Assembly Line

Simulated the initial model which followed discrete production technique and identified different bottlenecks in the process; proposed a new model which could achieve the forecasted demand found out using Time Series analysis based on past data.

Mentor: Dr. Mariya Naumova

Stroke Prediction Model for Patients using Data Analytics

Conducted exploratory data analysis on a highly unbalanced dataset of 5100 patients, including data pre-processing and data augmentation.
Developed 3 machine learning algorithms such as Decision Tree, Random Forest, Logistic Regression to predict stroke with the best accuracy of 83%.

Mentor: Dr. Weihong Guo

Feasibility analysis of bifacial photovoltaic module in Ahmedabad

Analysed the effect of wind speed, humidity, ambient temperature and orientation on the performance output of Bifacial Photovoltaic Module. And developed a model to predict the PV power output in a given outdoor condition at best orientation, with CO2 reduction and cost benefit analysis.

Mentor: Dr. Deepak Verma

Fabric Drying Experimental Analysis

Designed and built a setup such that experiments can be conducted on different fabric samples. By analyzing DBT, WBT, wettability, wind speed and temperature, we concluded correlations for influence of parameters on the drying period of various fabric material

[Solidworks] [Heat Transfer]

Mentor: Dr. Sunil Kale

Design and Fabrication of Centrifugal Pump Impeller

Designed theoretically and made a 3-D model of it in solidWorks. Also, 3D Printed the impeller which can be used as a pattern for casting. Inaddition, we also wrote a general 'C' Code to get design dimensions of impeller just by giving some input parameter in the program

[C] [Solidworks] [Fluid Machine]

Mentor: Prof. Varadharajan Iyer

Increasing vehicle efficiency using Thermoelectric generator

Analyzed energy consumed by different vehicles on a particular route under various conditions and utilized the exhaust waste heat by converting into useful electricity using thermoelectric generator

[Thermodynamics] [Heat Transfer]

Mentor: Dr. Dharamashi Rabari

Smart leaf blower for collecting dry leaves

Made a leaf blower consisting servo motors and Gyro sensors controlled by Arduino to adjust the angle of air nozzle, which helped to operate it without being concerned about the ground inclination

[Solidworks] [Arduino] [Mechatronics]

Mentor: Prof. Jaina Mehta

Pump Combinations: Series and Parallel

Built an experimental setup and analyzed the performance characteristics of two centrifugal pumps in both series and parallel under different operating conditions

[Solidworks] [Fluid Mechanics]

Mentor: Dr. Sunil Kale

Design and Manufacturing of a Flange Coupling

Made a 3-D model in solid-works. After that we generated G & M codes for CNC-machining. In addition to this, we wrote a general 'C' Code to get design dimensions just by giving some input parameter in the program
